How Does SPEC*FORM Work
SPEC*FORM is based upon Spec*Scan and has the same smooth and intuitive graphic interface. All set-up parameters are shown and set through a single screen. A transparency adapter is used on the scanner which permits Spec*Form to measure the variation in the light transmitted through the sheet similar to manual methods. A 256 gray scale image of the inspected area is shown on screen which can be zoomed for specific area magnification and enhanced to bring out hidden detail.
On each sheet two thresholds, one measuring up (lighter) and the other measuring down (darker), measure, count and separately display the size of the light and dark areas in histogram form.
In the image, false color controls show the light weight areas and flocs separately.
Variation in formation properties are calculated from the entire scanned area pixel GSV frequency distribution histogram using several equations.
